My little bro is a Pats fan and wanted to write a victory blog so here it is:
So maybe we didn’t win by 35 points but
I will take it. Patriots fan or not, Super Bowl XLIX was a phenomenal game.
This was a perfect game for me because my team won it all and because Seattle
(who I hate) lost. Pete Carroll being a dumbass, Russell Wilson showing his
true colors, and Richard Sherman crying all topped off an excellent football
game. And my boy Tom Terrific winning his fourth ring, his third MVP, and
breaking the record for most TDs in Super Bowl history was the icing on the
cake. There was SO much at stake in this game and I am so proud to be a
Patriots fan.
This was just a
classic New England win. We can truly beat you with anyone we want. Tom Brady
shredding defenses using four different guys to score. Loved seeing the Gronk
spike by the way. Sick secondary Seattle. We slowed down Marshawn juuuuuust
enough to win. It took Russell Wilson 20 minutes to complete a pass. And when
he did complete a pass it was after scrambling around for five minutes. We
never gave up and even though the defense struggled in the second half they
really buckled down and made the stops when needed. Oh, and how about Malcolm
Butler?!?! Who knew that an undrafted rookie out of Western Alabama would come
in and make the biggest play in Super Bowl history? He is simply another
example of how much of a genius Bill Bellichick is. I’m surprised people aren’t
saying Malcolm Butler is a Bellichick trick.
I
was sporting my Revis Island shirt last night and, boy, did he show up. He
completely shut down easily the least likeable and least relevant wide receiver
in the NFL, Doug Baldwin for 1 rec, 3 yds, and a TD, plus a 15 yard penalty for
celebrating his only catch of the game. At least he enjoyed it. The defense played
smart for the most part and was better than Seattle’s on the goal line. Jamie
Collins, Rob Ninkovich, and Dont’a Hightower provided the leadership for the
defense, and Vince Wilfork, as always, was a strong force up the middle. It was
certainly a team effort everywhere.
Now
let’s address the bigger question, Pete Carroll. How dumb are you? One yard to
go and you don’t use Beast Mode. His post-game explanation kind of made sense
that it was supposed to be a wasted play to hopefully stop the clock and that
he liked his matchups. Only…you have Marshawn Lynch who had been stopped for
negative yardage maybe once all game. But people who are saying that the
Seahawks lost that game are morons because the only reason they were down on
the goal line was because of a flat-out ridiculous catch by Jermaine Kearse.
Watching that was probably the most excruciating thing I have ever watched. It
was déjà vu all over again. As a Pats fan all I could think of was David
freaking Tyree. But thank God the Patriots didn’t make their fans go through
that again. Talk about going from rock bottom to the most unbelievable high
ever. And then Richard Sherman’s face after Butler picked it off was absolutely
PRICELESS! I will be able to laugh at that for all eternity. It was like he was watching someone die. It
feels so good to look at that and laugh and call Sherman a loser. So good.

I would also
like to mention the Seahawks were horrible sports about losing. I’m of course
referring to that thug Michael Bennett picking up a personal foul call after
Brady took a knee. What a goon. That is exactly why I hate the Seahawks.
Good stuff Scott, thanks for the blog. Go Pack Go!
I didn't know this was an essay competition website...Can I enter my senior thesis?
