Former Clemson Tigers haven't been as dominant as a whole the last few weeks, but there have still been some stellar performances lately, so I'm gonna just give an update on some overall stats for a few guys. Andre Ellington is now done for the year due to a hip injury so we wish him a full and fast recovery.
DeAndre Hopkins, WR Texans
Nuk is having probably the best season of any former Tigers, in a breakout season for the Texans. He had an absolute MONSTER game two weeks ago hauling in 9 catches for 238 yards and 2 TDs. He is quickly becoming Houston's best receiver.
Season stats:
64 catches
1,090 yards
17.0 yards per catch
6 TDs
Sammy Watkins, WR Bills
Sammy got off to a pretty hot start in the NFL, but had a few rough games until he got back on track Sunday against Denver. He caught 7 passes for 127 yards in the close loss to the Broncos.
Season stats:
58 catches
822 yards
14.2 yards per catch
5 TDs
Martavis Bryant, WR Steelers
Martavis didn't play in a game for the Steelers until Week 7 against Houston, and since then he's become one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite deep threat targets. In just seven games played, Bryant has put up some impressive numbers, thanks to a lot of deep balls, including the 94 yard TD he hauled in on Sunday in a win against the Bengals.
Season stats:
21 catches
453 yards
21.6 yards per catch
7 TDs
Andre Ellington, RB Cardinals
Andre started off hot this season, as he was a crucial part of Arizona's offensive success. Like I said, he is now out for the season with a hip injury, but even before then, he was struggling the past few games getting anything going on the ground. You could argue it's been due in part to the injury to Cardinals starting QB Carson Palmer, but I'm sure Ellington would have liked to put up better numbers. He has still racked up a decent amount of total yards this season despite his yards per carry being way lower than his league leading mark of 5 yards per carry last season.
Season stats:
201 carries
660 yards
3.3 yards per carry
3 TDs
46 catches
395 yards
8.6 yards per catch
2 TDs
Dwayne Allen, TE Colts
Allen has also dealt with injuries this year, but he was back on the field Sunday against Cleveland. The Colts have a solid tight end tandem with Allen and Coby Fleener. Allen hasn't gotten as many receptions as I'm sure he would like, but he makes plays when he does get the ball.
Season stats:
27 catches
379 yards
14.0 yards per catch
7 TDs
Chandler Catanzaro, K Cardinals
Catanzaro started out real hot, making his first 15 career field goals, but has hit a bit of a rough spot. He missed two 30-39 yard field goals on Sunday, when I can't remember the last time he missed one in that range. He still went 3 for 5 in the win against Kansas City, but he could have put the game out of reach by making both of those. I'm sure he'll bounce back. Dude is a very solid kicker.
Season stats:
22/26 on field goals
Long of 51 yards
25/25 extra points
91 points
Jaron Brown, WR Cardinals
Jaron is far from the Cardinals top target. In fact, he's probably number 4 on the wide receivers depth chart for Arizona. That being said, he's had some production this year, and got his second touchdown of the season on Sunday.
Season stats:
21 catches
223 yards
10.6 yards per catch
2 TDs
Bashaud Breeland, CB Redskins
I'm not sure how much the Skins use Breeland, but he's created a few turnovers and put up decent numbers in his rookie year for a horrible team.
Season stats:
46 combined tackles
2 forced fumbles
1 interception
9 passes defended
