Stating the Obvious: Pens Need to Step It Up

As a Penguins fan, these playoffs have been difficult to watch. Maybe not as difficult as it was for a Red Wings fan or a Sharks fan or anyone else that lost in the opening round, but it's been tough for me to enjoy the hockey that Pittsburgh is playing right now. They narrowly escaped Columbus in the first round and are now trying to blow the series against New York.
After tonight, I have just about had it with them. The fancy passing is cute and all but if it doesn't result with the puck in the back of the fucking net, it doesn't mean shit. Pittsburgh is a talented team, perhaps even the most talented in the league, but they don't play like it. Sid and Geno have been good, if not great, at times (especially Geno), but the Rangers have started to contain Sid by getting more physical with him. That shouldn't stop the best player in the world though. Brandon Sutter and Jussi Jokinen have quite possibly been the best two players throughout the playoffs for Pittsburgh, but the Pens aren't going to be able to ride those two to a Game 7 win on Tuesday night, let alone the Cup.
And about the goaltending, sometimes I wonder how there can be such a gap in the level of play between Fleury and Lundqvist. It seems like 75% of the goals Fleury has allowed this postseason have been fucking rebounds. Meanwhile, Lundqvist is catching everything that comes his way. Granted, the defense has let down Flower at several points this postseason, but it's his job to pick em up and make clutch saves. I know he's not gonna pitch a shut out every game, but clearly he has the skill to at least keep the Pens in the game in the first period. I mean, the dude had back to back shut outs earlier in the series. But Game 5 and tonight he was back to giving up rebound goals that bounce 7 feet in the fucking air and come down next to him and some fuck slaps it in.

How bout some fucking intensity in Game 7 boys! In Geno, Jussi, and Sutter we trust...?
