The Master Letdown

There's nothing like the masters, absolutely nothing. The soothing voice of Jim Nantz, and the flawless bent grass that surrounds the course at Augusta National. The masters is a time to sit down, flip onto CBS, and just CHILL. A few weeks ago, Bubba Watson took his second green jacket in his last three visits to Augusta and won by a comfortable three strokes at 8 under par. I really wanted to see the 20 year old Jordan Spieth get his first green jacket, but apparently the stage lights were too bright. Without household names like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, the masters (and golf overall) just isn't the same. Ratings for the last masters declined a significant 30% (theguardian.com) from the masters tournanent in 2013. Despite your opinion of Tiger Woods, his impact on golf is enormous, because well, he IS golf.

Side note: I honestly believe Tiger's career is over. Ever since he cheated on his smoke show wife and crashed his escalade, there's an apparent flaw in his game and his personal life. Jack Nicklaus, your record of 18 major wins will never be scratched. Enjoy
