Boston Bruins Weekly Round Up
10/27-11/2
10/28
Minnesota Wild vs. Boston Bruins
L 4-3
The Wild were coming into Boston pretty defeated after giving up a 3 goal lead to the Rangers the night before. Going into the 3rd period the B's were up 3-1 on the Wild, unfortunately the problem of the Bruins not playing a full 60 minutes bit them again. The defense was way too leaky and left Tuukka out to dry one too many times. You can't win games and solely rely on your tendy. The Bruins should have been the fresher team coming into this one after having a day off but during the 2nd period they started playing on their heels and the Wild took advantage of it.
10/30
Buffalo Sabres vs. Boston Bruins
W 3-2 OT
In my opinion, this was a must win for the Bruins. Julien bumped Marchand and Smith down to the third line because they simply weren't performing. Neither had been putting up very good numbers and Marchand had been playing his game on the permitter. I think this served as some extra motivation for Marchy. He lead the way with 2 goals and 1 assist on the night. One of those goals was the OT winner. While you always kind of expect to get out of Buffalo in regulation, at this point a win is a win so you can't complain.
11/2
Ottawa Senators vs. Boston Bruins
W 4-2
No one really knew why Krejci wasn't playing in this game on saturday. As his replacement, the B's called upon Matt Fraser to step in. Fraser certainly did that. He lead the charge against the Sens with 2 goals. Fraser had been a healthy scratch for 5 games in a row but he did not appear to be slowed down at all by that. Tuukka also played a good game making 27 saves on 29 shots.
