Patriots Week 11 roundup

I do not mean to be the bearer of bad news for the rest of the NFL... OH wait yes I do. The Patriots are the team to beat in the NFL. After a dominant win against the Broncos in their previous game, the Patriots flat out dictated against the Colts. In surprising fashion, It was not all Tom this week. This game was about great play out in Revis Island, great blocking schemes and execution, and oh yeah... JONAS GRAY! I am proud to say that I had been one of the very few fantasy owners prior to this game. Of course, I did not start him. Who would, Right? Despite prior notions, the dude can flat out ball. He is a perfect fit in the Patriots system because, as they mentioned many times in the broadcast, he does not make mistakes. He runs where he is told, does not lose yards, and holds on to the football. Kind of reminds me of a guy who wore the number 29 late last year... lets hope to see more production down the road!

There is not a single football fan who can take shots at this Patriots defense anymore. Front to back, the dudes know how to play some ball. Its not only the big names like Revis, Wilfork, and Browner. Its guys like Jaime Collins, Akeem Ayers, and Logan Ryans who make the plays when they are called on. Fans grow to expect certain play out of the big names, but nothing is more important than being able to pull a guy out of the depth chart and have him make a play. Andrew Luck is one of the best QB's in the NFL, and despite his yardage total the Patriots kept everything in front of them. Also, Andrew happened to be the teams leading rusher. The Colts may not be a powerhouse running team, but the Patriots made sure they would accomplish nothing on the ground. All around great play from all the guys who touched the field on defense. This defense is going to be even more important with some tough road games up ahead. Look for them to continue to play great football.

I can not write about this game without talking about Tom and Gronk. Starting with Tom, he made a real boneheaded play at the end of the first half that you simply never see him do. Despite that, he pulled it together and led the team to a convincing win in the second half. He allowed this team to prove they can win multiple ways, and as long as he is at the helm I am convinced this team can do anything. Try to tell him they can't, you will only be helping them out. Now Gronk..... absolutely insane. It is hard to support a penalty, but theres not much you can say to this guy. He plays his heart out all game, and you simply can not argue his passion. It may have boiled over on the Unnecessary roughness penalty, but that heart is what defines this team. Oh yeah, he did not leave Lucas Oil without making the whole defense of the Colts look like they were back in High School. NO ONE can tackle this guy. Half the time they barely give it any effort. Can't really say I blame them.
